imagine walking down oxford street, shopping one day, trying to repeatedly call someone to find out why they have cancelled lunch with you without telling you.
imagine ringing and ringing and ringing and getting no answer and getting their voicemail message every time.
imagine ringing their mum to try and find out if she knows where they are.
imagine reassuring their mum that when you finally get in touch you will be sure to let her know.
imagine when you hear nothing back from the person you were supposed to be having lunch with.
imagine you left one voicemail in a sweet voice and three hours later left another worried voicemail.
imagine feeling empty and not being able to put your finger on the cause.
imagine not hearing back from that person at all and calling and calling and calling til seven o'clock at night.
imagine calling the police so that they can go to the person's house and check that the person's not hurt.
imagine phone calls going backwards and forwards from you to the police and from the police to you.
imagine being asked for your current address and your father and brothers current address.
imagine calling your grandparents and them telling you they are coming over because they know you can't be alone tonight.
imagine anxiously doing the dishes that have waited by the sink for a week.
imagine one knock at the door late at night - your grandparents.
(now imagine a second knock at the door twenty minutes later)
imagine opening that door to find the police standing right in front of you.
imagine the police asking you to take a seat (just like in the movies)
imagine when these men read you the notice that the person you were supposed to have lunch with is dead.
imagine screaming and crying and being held by your grandmother so you don't get out of control.
imagine the feeling inside you when it starts to sink in that the person no longer alive committed suicide.

now imagine that person is your mother.
and imagine having to tell her mum the truth.
and imagine your father and brother were overseas and you couldn't get in touch to tell them for two days.
and imagine that tomorrow would have been your mum's 45th birthday but she didn't have the will to make it that far.

last night i had so much fun with paula and cat and melli at both richmond maccas and the mean fiddler in the middle of nowhere. i had the best night. it really made me take my mind off anything and everything that was bothering me these last few days and weeks. i started to really relax and chill out and feel comfortable about where i was going and what i was doing.

(thanks for our wonderful in-bed-til-4-am-yacking-our-heads-off chat, paula. you make me smile and when we talk i feel like i'm worth something. thanks for this morning as well... it's good to know i have someone to talk to about everything that's on my mind and theirs, whilst at the same time being comfortable and talking for hours without worrying about a thing.)

after i left paula's, i drove home the long way and it took me an hour, instead of 40 minutes, because of all the traffic. it sucked. but on the way i got to see someone driving a black Mazda 3, SP23 and i swear it is the hottest car around at the moment. it's beautiful.. it kinda makes me wish i had waited just a tad longer. but my car is a cutie too. she needs a wash. awww.

when i got home, i cooked pasta for a 1pm breakfast and then slept all afternoon instead of doing my assignment. it was so, so good. i woke up at about 5.45pm and had this sudden urge to start my assignment. so i did. and i've done about 3 questions so far. not much, but it's a start. one thing that stopped me from going further is when my brother and i got the urge to eat burritos for dinner when my dad offered us money.

inspired by nothing in particular, we decided to begin the enchilada tortilla olympics. we got out the packet of tortilla's then proceeded to shot-put, kick, volleyball and newcombeball them around our living room (still in the packet). it was so, so funny. we even played javelin and discus with those little wrapped-up fuckers. we kicked em down the hall way, we had desires of kicking them out over our balcony and accross the street (that plan was foiled by the security guard, staring up at us though), we planned a drive-by enchilada whacking event, and we video taped our newcombeball-meets-volleyball tournament that involved the use of our clothes rack/line as a 'net'. we absolutely ruled! haha. the enchilada tortillas had turned to shit about half an hour. and our arm muscles were sore from shot-putting them so hard. so we gave up, but thought we should have one more event just to finish up the proceedings. so i got out my lamp, switched out the lights, turned the lamp on and pushed it so it was facing the wall (it's grey concrete). it was supposed to be target practice, like an archery-meets-shot-put event, but luke got ideas and kicked the fuck out of the tortilla bag so hard that it burst all over the wall, the couch, the carpet and the remote.

luke called jesse's sister (she's south american) and asked her for advice on how to clean broken-down mexican food that looks like a pile of really yellow sand. it was so funny... til he started chatting her up :| .... and so i got back to my assignment. then we had dinner and a pretty good saturday night at home.

(all was well until now. my dad just got home and basically told me i am a failure and haven't met any one of his expectations recently. great.)
